Interpreting Third Party Dreams

Learn why we try not to interpret dreams from "a friend of a friend"

Interpreting Our Kids Dream

In this training we will interpret a kids dream.

If This Were a Dream

What do we mean when we say, "if this were a dream, what would it mean?"

Dream Mentorship Training

Join me as we walk through Brandon's son's friend's dream. Third party dreams are hard to interpret and here is why.

What do dreams about perspective (viewpoint) mean?

  • Most ordinary dreams take place with the dreamer experiencing some aspect of the dream as they do in waking life (first person perspective). Occasionally the dreamer may feel they are someone else (second person perspective) Sometimes the dreamer is watching the action in the dream take place (third person or Observer perspective.)
  • First person perspective

When you experience a dream in the first person, as yourself, the dream is most likely referring to or applying to some aspect of yourself or your life. This is also true for second and third person perspectives, but from different angles.  It is important to speak directly to the dream because you are intuitively picking up inflections and connecting with their heart on the matter. You also will pick up nuances.
  • It is not impossible to interpret a dream by third party but definitely will not get to the depth of the matter.
  • Second person perspective

When you are someone else in the dream, it may be that God is trying to get you to be more open-minded. It's offering the opportunity to see something from someone else's perspective.
  • Shapeshifting occurs from a second person perspective giving the dreamer the opportunity to see, experience and understand a situation from many different viewpoints.
  • A dreamer may also shapeshift into animals and other life-forms, empowering them with their instincts and strengths or characteristics, good and bad, of that animal.
  • Third person perspective

As an observer, you may simply feel you are "there" and watching what is unfolding, or you may be watching a video, movie or TV screen.
  • When you experience a dream as an Observer, it may be that the God is protecting you from experiencing the dream first hand because it is too emotional or painful. It gives you the opportunity to see the truth without feeling the pain.
  • It could, and most likely is an extrinsic dream, about someone or something else.  Many times this is giving you insight into a situation or word of knowledge.
  • Remember that whether the perspective is first, second, or third person, the dreamer never goes away and it is always the dreamer's dream and in some way connected to their life.
